Location – Hyderabad

About the Role:

This role assists the Project Manager in ensuring the correct application of the Novartis Global Pharma HSE by Design Standards across the project globally. The coordinator is responsible for addressing significant risks or major non-compliances, coordinating health, safety, and environmental aspects of all design work, and leading the design teams in respect of design coordination and the identification, elimination, reduction, and recording of HSE residual risks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide Health & Safety design expertise and design the safety standards for Green & Brown field Project.
• Leading the Design Team in process safety requirements (undertaking HAZOPs and/or ZHAs, or similar RAs) identified by the Project Manager, ensuring all outcomes are recorded and actioned through the design process. The coordinator also leads the Design Team in HSE Design Risk Reviews, SIL assessments, buildability and construction methodology reviews prior to project commencement as defined within HSE by Design Standard.
• Defining HSE strategy, verifying progress of measures from previous HSE reviews, updating HSE strategy, defining project-specific HSE roles and responsibilities, and ensuring adequate HSE training for all project functions.
• Must be aware with General statutory Requirements in India and Abroad will be added advantage.
• Hands on experience of Deliverables like Developing Fire Sprinkler layout, Fire Extinguisher layout, Fire Hydrant, Basis of Design, MTO and Tender document for Fire and Safety system.
• Explosion protection – experiences needed for reviewing Explosion Protection Documents, support Project Manager.
• Machinery Safety – basic knowledge as Certified Machinery Safety Expert, experiences needed for reviewing machinery safety documentation and condition of equipment, support Project Manager.
• Hands on Experience of ETP/STP and generate its Enquiry.
• Basic knowledge of Costing and Support Budget of Fire & Safety system.
• Knowledge of working on tools like Revit and BIM will be added advantage.
• Review and Develop HSE related SOPs and Update it with value addition.
• Implementation of and compliance with all the instructions and requirements for safety at work, environment protection, and property protection.
• Design Risk Reviews process in a structured approach to ensure that health, safety, and environmental risks are identified, assessed, and managed throughout the design phase of a project.
• Out Of total experience, significant percentage more than 50% need to be in designing HSE for any new green field/ brown field project.
• High level understanding of process/chemicals, CSA, Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Automation and Clean/Black Utilities.
• Strong stakeholder orientation and must have prior experience of being functional representative for the defined group. Will be responsible for managing internal stakeholders like User/QA group and external stakeholders like Design consultant/Vendors.

Essential Requirements:

• Min 5 years of in Design Experience in HSE and HAZOP.
• Good Knowledge of Project management like - Project planning, Cost Management, Time Management, Construction management, Quality Management, Contract Administration, Safety Management & required Statutory approvals management.
• Candidate should be a bachelor’s degree holder in Safety and Environmental Engineering with 8-10 years of experience.
