Interior Designer

• Client Consultation & Goal Setting:
• Meeting with clients to understand their vision, functional needs, and style preferences.
• Establishing project budgets, requirements, and realistic completion timelines.
• Determining how a space will be used and how people will move through it.
• Design Development & Visualisation:
• Creating initial sketches, mood boards, and 2D/3D design plans to illustrate concepts.
• Using computer-aided design (CAD) software like AutoCAD, 3D, GSU, VRAY, ENSCAPE or Revit to produce detailed floor plans and elevations.
• Selecting color schemes, materials, finishes, lighting, and furniture (often referred to as FF&E—Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment).
• Technical Compliance & Documentation:
• Ensuring all designs adhere to building codes, fire safety regulations, and accessibility standards (such as ADA).
• Preparing detailed contract documents and specifications for construction teams.
• Taking accurate measurements of the "as-built" space before starting designs.
• Project Management & Execution:
• Coordinating with other professionals such as architects, structural engineers, and general contractors as required.
• Sourcing and ordering materials, tracking invoices, and overseeing the delivery of goods.
• Supervising on-site work and subcontractors to ensure the project matches the approved design.
