Maintenance Technician

Purpose of the role

To ensure smooth, safe and continuous operation of plant machinery, utilities and electrical systems by carrying out preventive, breakdown and corrective maintenance as per company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance of production machines, material‑handling equipment, compressors, pumps and utilities as per schedules.
• Attend electrical and mechanical breakdowns, identify root cause and restore equipment in minimum time.
• Carry out basic installation, wiring and termination of motors, panels, lighting and small machinery under supervision of senior technician/engineer.
• Inspect machines regularly for abnormal noise, vibration, temperature, leakages and report any potential failures.
• Maintain records of maintenance work, spares used and downtime in logbooks/CMMS.
• Follow all safety procedures including LOTO, PPE usage and safe work permits; ensure compliance with statutory and company safety norms.
• Coordinate with production, stores and other departments for planning shutdowns and arranging spares.
• Assist in improvement projects, modifications and energy‑saving initiatives in the plant.
• Keep tools, workplace and panels clean and in good condition; maintain 5S in maintenance areas.

Required qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical / Fitter / Industrial Electrician or equivalent trade.
• 2–5 years’ experience in plant / industrial maintenance (fabrication, utilities, or similar manufacturing environment preferred).
