Roles & responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain SQL/NoSQL database systems across dev, staging, and production environments.
Monitor performance, optimize queries, and tune databases for high availability and scalability.
Implement database backup, restore, DR, and replication strategies.
Manage user access, security controls, encryption, and compliance requirements.
Troubleshoot database outages, performance bottlenecks, and connectivity issues.
Automate routine DBA tasks using scripts or workflow tools.
Support application teams with schema design, stored procedures, indexing, and query review.
Engage in on‑call rotations for production support.
Maintain documentation—architecture diagrams, runbooks, recovery guides, configuration records.
Collaborate with Infra, DevOps, and Application teams to ensure robust release and deployment processes.

Mandatory  technical & functional skills
Strong expertise in SQL Server / Oracle / PostgreSQL / MySQL (specify per requirement).
Solid understanding of replication, clustering, AlwaysOn, backups, high availability.
Hands‑on with performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, Managed Databases).
