Manager - Health, Safety and Environment - Rail & Inland Terminals - Hyderabad

Position Name - HSE Manager
Department - HSE
Location - DPW, Hyderabad Thimmapur PFT
Position reports to - BU Head

Primary Objectives    
•    Ensuring Zero SIF in the Terminal
•    Ensuring to achieve ZERO carbon neutral facility.  
•    Continuous risk reduction by education the people 
•    To create a ZERO harm, ZERO pedestrian, ZERO Spill facility 

Key responsibilities - 

   
•    Lead the team in implementing the HSE Management System.
•    To regularly monitor safety standards and procedures in the BU, and respond to emergencies and incidents in the facilities, providing advice in HSE-related matters.
•    Organize OHSE committee meetings, provide orientation & safety induction training to employees and contractors including Fire prevention, and Emergency response plans.
•    Make recommendations to BUH on the status of training and suitability of operators, Safety improvement requirements, hotspot areas where more attention is needed from BU Management
•    Establish, implement & maintain Emergency Response Procedures for various potential hazardous situations and conduct hazmat training programs
•    Monitor the timely submission of all reports and investigate work-related incidents with trend analysis for effective solutions and modifications to work methods or equipment to avoid the occurrence.
•    To provide advice and support to line management on safe work practices, conducting risk assessments and the appropriate control measures to be adopted for ensuring that operational risks are proactively and appropriately managed.
•    Drive HSE training needs analysis in the BU, prepare training plans, coordinate/deliver in-house HSE training, and maintain training records.
•    To ensure all assessment programs are up to date, followed, Periodic audit conducted, follow-up of pending actions, and implementation of new engagement programs.
•    Conduct safety inspections of work areas and prepare reports of observed safety hazards, violation of safety rules & regulations, for improvements of safety standards.
•    To ensure the efficacy of all emergency preparedness plans through regular mock drills and upkeep of all emergency procedures.
•    Monitor, collate and analyse data for trend analysis & statistics to achieve continual improvement on all aspects of HSE and related training of personnel.
•    To ensure compliance with all Fire Safety related norms, upkeep of all Fire Safety appliances at all locations, implementation of Loss prevention techniques at all responsible locations.
•    Organize various HSE promotional programs, competitions, continuous awareness programs, S&E celebrations, safety awards, and toolbox talk to enhance HSE performance in the BU
•    Coordinate with local authorities and government bodies for mutual assistance during emergencies to mitigate the loss of life and damage to property.
•    Preparing HSE plan year on year and the same to be reviewed quarterly.
•    Preparing HSE budget with consultation of respective functions 
•    Rolling out all GHSE fatal risk reduction programs 
•    Escalation of safety issues if it is not done in time. 
•    Maintaining all the records of this observation, corrective action preventive actions and toolbox talks. 
•    Monitoring the terminal operations to ensure unsafe acts and conditions.
•    Verify the completion of corrective actions.
•    Verify the safety precautions are observed at work site by contractors.
•    Conducting safety training as per the Training Need Analysis. 
•    Be a lead investigator and investigate all the incidents.

Educational, Technical Qualifications, Required Skills -

•    Must be a safety graduate (Diploma/advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety /NEBOSH
•    IGC/MTech/BTech/BSc etc.)
•    Minimum 10 years’ experience in the field of safety
•    Worked as a Leader for minimum 3-5 years.
•    Experience in Manufacturing/terminal/logistics operations (5-7 years)
•    Knowledge of Warehousing Safety and Environment requirements.
•    Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications/Presentation skills
•    Good Communication skills
•    Knowledge of English, Hindi and local language
