Network Engineer (NetDevOps Engineer, Python, Ansible Tower)

Designs, creates, and operates the company's internal data communications systems and infrastructure. Plans, designs and implements local and wide-area network solutions between multiple platforms and develops new solutions and tooling using standard and advanced technologies. Ensures deployed networks and infrastructure are flexible and support quick 'on demand' access. Supports / troubleshoots network issues and coordinates with vendors for installation of such items as routers and switches. Works on or leads network-related project implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Network Automation & Orchestration

• Design, implement, and maintain automated workflows for network configuration and lifecycle management using and Ansible Tower 
• Develop and optimize for network changes leveraging tool like , , and . CI/CD pipelines GitLabJenkins Bitbucket 
• Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and accelerate deployment cycles.

Infrastructure Management

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot automation for platforms. Cisco Routing & Switching 
• Manage and optimize automation for Firewalls and Loadbalancers to ensure security, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Network Management Tools, Observability & Monitoring

• Implement and manage network discovery and observability solutions
• Integrate and maintain Source of Truth systems such as NetBox for accurate network inventory and configuration data.
• Develop dashboards and alerting mechanisms for proactive monitoring, performance optimization, and incident prevention.
• Ensure end-to-end visibility across network automation pipelines and infrastructure health.
• Integrate ITSM tools for automated incident response and workflow orchestration.

DevOps Integration

• Collaborate with development and operations teams to embed network services into DevOps workflows.
• Utilize Jira for agile project management and task tracking.
• Automate network configuration management by integrating NetBox and ITSM platforms into CI/CD processes.

Required Skills & Technologies

Must have

• Networking: Cisco Routing & Switching, 
• Automation & Scripting: Ansible, Ansible Tower, REST API automation, Python and Bash scripting.
• Observability - Monitoring: Network Monitoring, SNMPv3
• Version Control: Git-based workflows.
• CI/CD: Pipeline principles

Advantages of a candidate - any of the following:

• Administrative experience: with Cisco ISE, Palo Alto Firewalls, F5 Load Balancers
• Programming: Java, C, C++, Perl
• DevOps Tooling: Jenkins, Bitbucket, Jira, Gitlab, Github
• Observability - Monitoring: Network Monitoring, SNMPv3, CheckMK or SolarWinds
• Operating Systems: Linux or MS Windows (administration and troubleshooting).
• CI/CD: Pipeline creation and maintenance for network deployments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
• Familiarity with Linux administration and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for network automation environments.
• Familiarity with MS Windows Server administration.
• Familiarity with Database (MSSQL, PostgreSQL) administration.
• Knowledge of REST APIs and integration with network devices.
• Certifications such as CCNP, PCNSE, or F5 Certified Technology Specialist.
