Nurse Practitioners

OPD nursing staff role the responsibilities focus on patient assessment, monitoring, medication administration, and supportive care for short-stay patients receiving infusions, injections, dressings, or diagnostic procedures. The staff ensures smooth patient flow, safety, and education without involvement in surgical or invasive procedures.

• Core duties : Conduct initial health assessments, record vital signs, and prepare patients for OPD consultations or daycare procedures.
• Perform and assist with minor non-surgical procedures such as wound dressings, infusions, and sample collections.
• Patient care and safety : Continuously monitor patient condition and recovery, promptly reporting any changes to the doctor.
• Ensure infection control and maintain a clean, safe environment in daycare and OPD areas.
• Provide first aid and emergency care as needed, without performing any surgical interventions.
• Documentation and coordination : Accurately document patient assessments, care provided, medications, and recovery progress.
• Coordinate with pharmacy, billing, diagnostics, and other departments for timely patient care and discharge.
• Arrange for safe discharge after final assessment and handover of discharge summaries and instructions.
• Patient education and communication : Educate patients and attendants on medication, procedure care, warning signs, and follow-up requirements.
• Maintain clear, empathetic communication with patients and families, ensuring privacy and confidentiality.
• Support patient comfort and emotional well-being during their visit.
