Experience & Background: â Minimum 36 months of overall professional experience. â At least 12 months of hands-on experience in Defect Management, Bug Triage, or Issue Resolution within software development or support environments. â Prior exposure to collaborating with development, testing, and product teams to prioritize and resolve defects effectively. Core Responsibilities: â Defect Triage & Prioritization: â Review, validate, and prioritize reported defects based on severity, impact, and reproducibility. â Facilitate defect triage meetings with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution. â Collaborate closely with developers, testers, and stakeholders to clarify defect details and reproduction steps. â Defect Lifecycle Management: â Track and monitor defect status across the lifecycle in ticketing tools (e.g., JIRA). â Ensure defects are logged with complete and accurate information, including logs, screenshots, and environment details. â Escalate critical or high-impact defects promptly to relevant teams or management. â Data Analysis & Reporting: â Analyze defect trends and root causes to identify areas for quality improvements. â Generate regular reports on defect metrics (e.g., open defects, defect density, aging defects) for process reviews. â Use Excel/Google Sheets (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and basic SQL queries to extract and process defect data. â Process Compliance & Improvement: â Ensure adherence to defect management processes and SLAs. â Identify gaps or inefficiencies in defect triage workflows and propose enhancements. â Conduct periodic quality audits on defect records to maintain data integrity. â Communication & Coordination: â Act as a point of contact for defect-related queries within the team and across departments. â Provide clear, concise, and timely updates on defect status and triage outcomes. â Document lessons learned and knowledge articles to aid faster defect resolution. Skills & Qualifications: â Proficient with ticketing tools like JIRA for defect tracking and management. â Strong working knowledge of MS Office or Google Suite, especially Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis. â Basic understanding of SQL for data extraction. â Experience in using root cause analysis techniques (5 Whys, Fishbone diagram) to identify defect origins. â Exceptional English reading and writing skills—ability to understand complex defect reports and write clear bug descriptions. â Strong logical reasoning and attention to detail to identify critical defects and missing information. â Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, managing multiple defect triage activities simultaneously. â Familiarity with software development lifecycle and QA/testing fundamentals. â Comfortable using smartphones, virtual platforms, and remote collaboration tools.Experience Level
