OT Nurse

Key Responsibilities: 

l Assist surgeons during ophthalmic procedures (e.g., cataract, glaucoma, and oculoplastic surgeries) as a Scrub Nurse.

l Perform Circulating Nurse duties, ensuring all equipment, instruments, and consumables are available and functioning efficiently.

l Prepare and maintain a sterile OT environment, adhering strictly to infection control and aseptic protocols.

l Support pre-operative and post-operative activities to ensure seamless patient care.

l Handle ophthalmic surgical instruments, microscopes, and consumables with accuracy and care.

l Maintain complete and accurate OT documentation and reports.

l Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical process.

l Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthetists, and the wider clinical team to ensure smooth OT operations.

l Participate in OT quality and safety audits, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:·         

Education:

 GNM / B.Sc Nursing (Registered with Nursing Council)

Experience:

l Minimum 2–4 years in OT, with at least 1 year in Ophthalmology surgeries

l Sound knowledge of ophthalmic instruments, sterile techniques, and OT safety standards

l Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

l Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure

l A compassionate, patient-centered approach to nursing
