Job Description 

The Product Compliance Process Lead/Assistant Manager/Manager will be responsible for leading and executing the organization's product compliance program in alignment with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations. This role will oversee compliance strategies related to customer equipment, labelling, solvent chemistry, and safety data documentation while ensuring adherence to industry and regulatory requirements. 

This position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement compliance best practices, maintain documentation, and develop training programs. The role will manage teams, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and international product regulations. 

  • Compliance Leadership & Strategy: 

  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance as the top priority by developing and implementing compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures. 

  • Provide strategic direction to ensure regulatory adherence across all product compliance activities. 

  • Lead audits, assessments, and risk analysis to identify gaps and enhance compliance processes. 

  • Serve as the key point of contact for regulatory agencies and external stakeholders on compliance matters. 

  • Regulatory Compliance & Documentation: 

  • Oversee the development, maintenance, and review of Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), labels, and product documentation in compliance with OSHA, GHS, REACH, and other global regulatory requirements

  • Ensure that all branch operating guidelines (BOG), best management practices (BMP), and standard operating procedures (SOP) are up to date and implemented effectively. 

  • Coordinate product registration, environmental compliance reporting, and regulatory impact assessments

 

Team Leadership & Training: 

  • Lead, train, and develop a team of compliance professionals within the Global Capability Center (GCC) to support compliance initiatives. 

  • Design and implement training programs for employees and stakeholders on product compliance, safety standards, and environmental regulations. 

  • Act as a mentor, fostering a culture of continuous learning and regulatory excellence within the team. 

  • Process Improvement & Technology Enablement: 

  • Leverage technology to streamline compliance data storage, retrieval, and analysis for global accessibility. 

  • Drive process improvements in compliance tracking, reporting, and documentation management. 

  • Identify emerging compliance trends and recommend enhancements to existing policies and procedures. 

  • Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

  • Partner with facility compliance managers, product support teams, and leadership to drive compliance initiatives. 

  • Work closely with Regulatory, Legal, R&D, and Operations teams to align compliance programs with business goals. 

  • Support facility operations by coordinating OSHA’s Hazard Communication standards with the Global Harmonized System (GHS).

  • Reporting & Governance: 

  • Oversee the preparation of compliance reports and maintain accurate workpapers, documentation, and audit trails

  • Ensure compliance assurance programs align with federal, state, local, and provincial laws, as well as corporate policies. 

  • Monitor global regulatory changes and assess their impact on company products and processes. 

  • Other Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in corporate compliance initiatives, offering guidance and expertise as needed. 

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support business and regulatory objectives. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered. 

  • 5+ years of experience in product compliance, regulatory affairs, or environmental health & safety (EHS), with at least 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. 

  • Strong knowledge of EPA, OSHA, GHS, REACH, and other regulatory frameworks

  • Proven experience in leading compliance programs, audits, and risk management initiatives. 

  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills. 

  • Ability to analyze regulations, assess business impact, and drive strategic compliance initiatives

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. 

  • Experience with compliance-related software tools and data management systems is a plus.
