Production / Manufacturing Head

Role Overview:

The Production Manager is responsible for end-to-end shopfloor execution, delivery commitments, manpower productivity, and daily operational discipline. This role demands someone who has run CNC production lines under pressure, understands bottlenecks instinctively, and can convert plans into output without excuses.

This is a hands-on leadership role, not a desk job.

• Key Responsibilities: Production & Delivery On daily, weekly, and monthly production targets
• Ensure on-time dispatch as per customer schedules
• Balance machine loading across VMCs, Turning Centers, SPMs, and automation cells
• Actively resolve bottlenecks, breakdowns, tooling delays, and manpower gaps
• Shopfloor Management: Manage operators, setters, helpers, and shift supervisors
• Enforce shift discipline, attendance, skill allocation
• Ensure optimal machine utilization (OEE focus)
• Maintain strict 5S, safety, and housekeeping standards
• Process Control: Ensure adherence to approved process sheets, drawings, and inspection plans
• Monitor cycle times, rejections, rework, scrap
• Coordinate with Quality & Technical teams for corrective actions
• Manpower & Skill Development: Identify training needs for operators and setters
• Reduce dependency on single-skilled manpower
• Build second-line leaders on the shopfloor
• Coordination & Reporting: Coordinate with:
• Technical Head (process improvements & tooling)
• Quality (rejections & audits)
• Purchase & Stores (material/tool availability)
• Provide daily production reports, rejection analysis, and action plans to management
• Required Skills & Experience: Strong experience in CNC machining operations
• Deep understanding of:
• VMCs, CNC Turning Centers
• Fixtures, tooling, inserts
• Cutting parameters & cycle optimization
• Ability to read engineering drawings confidently
• Proven record of handling 20–100+ shopfloor staff
• Experience working with ISO / IATF environments preferred
