Quality Control Engineer

Position: QC Inspector / Quality Engineer – MechanicalQualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech – Mechanical Engineering

Experience: Minimum 5 Years

Industry: Machine Manufacturing / Heavy Engineering

• Job Description:Key Responsibilities:Inspect machined, fabricated, and assembled components as per engineering drawings and specifications.
• Perform in-process, final, and incoming inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T, and BOMs.
• Use and handle measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, dial indicators, and gauges.
• Monitor welding quality, dimensional accuracy, and surface finish.
• Coordinate with production, assembly, and fabrication teams to resolve quality issues.
• Raise NCRs, conduct root cause analysis, and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports, quality records, and documentation.
• Conduct vendor inspection for outsourced machining and fabrication jobs.
• Ensure adherence to ISO / QMS procedures and internal quality standards.
• Support final inspection, testing, and dispatch clearance.
• Skills & Knowledge Required:Strong knowledge of machine manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, assembly).
• Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments.
• Good understanding of tolerances, fits, and GD&T.
• Knowledge of welding inspection and fabrication standards.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 / QMS documentation.
• Ability to identify defects and suggest corrective actions.
• Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Word).
• Desired Attributes:Strong attention to detail and quality mindset.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently on shop floor and with vendors.
• Willingness to travel for vendor inspections if required.
