🏥 Service Engineer – Medical Equipment Industry


Role Overview

The Service Engineer ensures medical equipment is installed, maintained, and serviced to the highest standards of safety and performance. In addition to technical responsibilities, the role includes identifying potential sales opportunities during service visits and supporting the commercial team with qualified leads.

Key Responsibilities


Technical Service

- Install, calibrate, and configure medical equipment at healthcare facilities.  

- Perform preventive maintenance and safety checks.  

- Diagnose and repair technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime.  

- Maintain accurate service logs, reports, and compliance documentation.  


Customer Support & Training

- Provide hands-on training to healthcare staff on equipment usage.  

- Deliver prompt technical support (on-site and remote).  

- Build strong customer relationships through professional service delivery.  


Sales Lead Generation

- Identify potential sales opportunities during service visits (e.g., upgrades, consumables, new equipment needs).  

- Communicate customer requirements and leads to the sales team.  

- Support product demonstrations and assist sales colleagues when required.  

- Contribute to customer retention and upselling by highlighting value-added solutions.  


Collaboration & Compliance

- Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers for spare parts and upgrades.  

- Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations (ISO, CE, FDA standards).  

- Work closely with internal sales and service teams to align technical and commercial goals.

- Strong knowledge of biomedical engineering, electronics, and medical device technology.  

- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.  

- Effective communication and customer engagement abilities.  

- Basic understanding of sales processes and lead qualification.  

- Ability to balance technical service with commercial awareness.  

- Willingness to travel extensively.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.  

- 1–3 years of experience in medical equipment servicing (junior roles acceptable).  

- Exposure to sales or customer-facing roles is an advantage.
