Senior Civil Engineer – Job Description

A Senior Civil Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, supervising, and managing civil engineering projects such as buildings, roads, bridges, water supply systems, and infrastructure developments. The role involves technical leadership, project coordination, and ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• :Lead and manage civil engineering projects from concept to completion
• Prepare and review designs, drawings, estimates, and technical reports
• Supervise site activities and ensure work is executed as per approved plans
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, consultants, and government authorities
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines
• Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues
• Guide and mentor junior engineers and site staff
• Review material specifications and approve construction methods
• Skills :
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction practices
• Project management and leadership skills
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Knowledge of quality control and safety standards
• Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BTech/BE) Or masters Degree,ME/M.Tech
• 5–10+ years of experience in civil construction or infrastructure projects
• Professional certification (preferred)
• Work Environment:
• Combination of office-based planning and on-site supervision
• May involve travel to project sites
