Senior Software QA Engineer

Job Summary 

We are looking for a Senior Software QA Engineer to support our team in ensure ensuring the quality, reliability, and stability of our applications. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of software QA and Agile methodologies, hands-on experience with automation tools like such as Playwright and Selenium, software development lifecycle (SDLC) applications such as GitLab, and the ability to drive regression testing, develop test cases, maintain test documentation, and contribute toassure continuous improvement in testing processes. 

Test Planning & Execution:

• Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases. 
• Plan and perform regression testing, smoke testing, and sanity checks for releases. 
• Identify, document, and track defects using standard bug-tracking tools (e.g., GitLab, Jira). 

Automation:

•  Write and maintain automation scripts using Playwright for web applications. 
• Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.GitLab). 
• Continuously enhance automation coverage and optimize test execution time. 

Collaboration & Communication:

• Participate actively in daily stand-ups/scrums, sprint planning, and review meetings. 
• Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure product quality and timely releases. 
• Provide clear communication of testing progress, risks, and issues. 

Data & Reporting:

• Manage and maintain test scripts, Excel sheets, reports, and test documentation. 
• Analyze test results and metrics to provide insights into product quality. 
• Maintain and update QA dashboards or data trackers for test coverage and defect metrics. 

Quality Ownership:

• Review and refine test cases written by other team members. 
• Ensure best QA best practices are followed across teams. 
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of QA standards and documentation. 

• Mentorship & Leadership:

• Guide junior QA engineers in test design, execution, and automation. 
• Conduct peer reviews and share QA best practices. 

Requirements 

Technical Skills: 

• Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC. 
• Hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, or similar automation tools. 
• Proficient Demonstrated proficiency in manual testing and writing clear test cases. 
• Experience with GitLab, Jira, TestRail or similar SDLC and test management tools. 
• Working knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets for test planning and reporting. 
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications 

1. Experience testing web and API applications. 
2. Knowledge of REST API testing using tools like Postman or Swagger. 
3. Exposure to performance testing and security testing concepts. 
4. Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
