About the Role

1. Collaborate in a team environment with significant ownership and autonomy over projects.
2. Design, implement, and ship reliable and well-tested features to our users
3. Collaborates with stakeholders, solution architects, product managers, and other engineering teams to define project requirements and execution plans.
4. Ensure that system designs, including APIs, architecture, and dependency selection, result in scalable, resilient solutions that minimize support costs and enhance the user experience.
5. Create comprehensive documentation for the solutions, including design specifications, deployment guides, and operational support documentation.
6. Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

The Business Applications team’s mission is to empower Uber’s staff to be more productive and successful through our technical solutions, service delivery and innovation. Our team supports teams within Uber such as Uber Eats, Uber Freight, Uber for Business and Law Enforcement. Our team invests in innovation, new business line expansion and integration with external and internal systems.

---- Basic Qualifications ----

1. A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2. At least 4+ years of professional experience in software development.
3. Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.
4. Proficient in at least one programming language, such as Golang, Java, C#, or C++.
5. Effective communication skills to interact with engineers, technical teams, and senior management to gather requirements, and describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
6. Working knowledge of API design, development, and management.
7. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
8. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

---- Preferred Qualifications ----

1. MS in Computer Science or related field.
2. Knowledgeable in software engineering best practices throughout the entire software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
3. Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially Salesforce, and hands-on experience with cloud-based integrations.
4. Understanding of DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines.
5. Experience working in Agile development environments, with a strong commitment to delivering iterative, high-quality solutions.
6. Enjoys solving complex business problems through innovative and technology-driven solutions.
