Software Tester

Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated Software Tester (0–2 years) to join our QA team. The candidate will be responsible for executing test cases, identifying defects, and ensuring that software meets the required quality standards. Freshers with good knowledge of testing concepts are welcome.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Test Planning & AnalysisUnderstand project requirements and create basic test scenarios.
• Participate in requirement reviews and identify gaps or inconsistencies.
• Test Case WritingPrepare clear, comprehensive, and structured manual test cases.
• Create test data for various testing activities.
• Test ExecutionPerform functional, regression, smoke, and UI testing.
• Execute manual test cases on web and mobile applications.
• Validate bug fixes and retest resolved issues.
• Defect ReportingIdentify, document, and track defects using tools (JIRA, Bugzilla, Excel).
• Provide detailed steps, screenshots, and expected vs actual results.
• Collaboration & CommunicationWork closely with developers to understand issues and support debugging.
• Participate in daily standups, QA meetings, and sprint activities.
• Share daily test execution status and prepare test summary reports.
• DocumentationMaintain test case repositories, test reports, and tracking sheets.
• Update testing progress and defect status regularly.
• Quality AssuranceEnsure consistency, usability, and functionality across the application.
• Validate UI/UX elements and check for design alignment.
• Continuous LearningLearn new QA tools, test methodologies, and automation basics.
• Participate in internal training sessions and improve testing skills.

Required Skills

• Good understanding of STLC, SDLC, and testing principles.
• Ability to write test cases and defect reports.
• Basic knowledge of functional and regression testing.
• Familiarity with bug tracking tools (JIRA preferred).
• Basic understanding of SQL (added advantage).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
