Sr. Cloud Engineer - Azure

About the job:

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer with a focus on Microsoft Azure Infra services. In this role, you will provision and manage Azure cloud services to meet business requirements, deploy and manage Azure resources using infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, and develop automation scripts and workflows. You will monitor Azure infrastructure and applications for performance, reliability, and security, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize Azure cloud architecture. Implementing and enforcing security best practices, staying current with Azure technologies, and documenting designs and procedures are key aspects of this role.

Responsibilities:

• Provision and manage Azure cloud services to meet business requirements.
• Deploy and manage Azure resources using infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or ARM templates.
• Develop automation scripts and workflows to streamline deployment and operations tasks.
• Monitor Azure infrastructure and applications for performance, reliability, and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure services, networking, and applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize Azure cloud architecture for performance, cost, and scalability.
• Implement and enforce security best practices to protect Azure resources and data.
• Stay current with Azure technologies, trends, and best practices to continuously improve our cloud infrastructure.
• Document designs, procedures, and configurations to ensure knowledge sharing and maintain system integrity.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide support for production incidents as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Azure certifications such as AZ-900, AZ-104, or equivalent.
• Good understanding of IT Operational activities and IRC process (Incident, Request, and Change).
• Experience with ITSM Tools such as ServiceNow, FreshService, JIRA, Remedy, etc.
• Familiarity with 3rd Party monitoring systems like DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
• Knowledge of hybrid cloud environments and migration strategies.
• Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

Good to Have:

• Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer with a focus on Microsoft Azure Infra services.
• Strong understanding of Azure core services such as vNETs, VPNs, Virtual Machines, Storage, Networking Services, FrontDoor, Firewall, AzureSQL DBs, App Service, Backups, Automation, Azure Site Recovery, Azure Monitor, LogAnalytics, Defender, etc.
• Good understanding of Azure Kubernetes services (AKS) and DevOps.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Bicep, and ARM templates.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Good understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, Firewall).
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., CIS benchmarks, GDPR, HIPAA).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
