TIG Welder

Key Responsibilities (Rack Manufacturing)

• Weld sheet‑metal parts, tubes, angles, brackets and uprights used in rack frames using TIG (and basic MIG, if required) as per drawings and WPS.
• Use jigs, fixtures and templates to assemble and tack complete rack sub‑assemblies (frames, cross members, supports) before final welding, maintaining squareness and dimensions.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, rack GA/part drawings and welding symbols for hole positions, bends, and joint details.
• Prepare joints by cleaning, grinding, deburring, aligning and clamping parts to avoid distortion and rework.
• Check weld quality and dimensions of rack assemblies using measuring tape, squares, gauges and go/no‑go templates; ensure assemblies fit with powder‑coating and final assembly lines.
• Work closely with press‑shop, laser/CNC, bending and powder‑coating teams to meet daily production targets and reduce rejections of racks.
• Follow 5S and safety practices in welding area, proper handling of gas cylinders, cables and welding machines.
