VisionPlus Developer – Mainframe, CMS, FAS, LMS & TRAMS Expert

Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a VisionPlus Developer to take ownership of VisionPlus development projects. The role focuses on leveraging deep expertise in VisionPlus core modules such as CMS, FAS, TRAMS, LMS, and VMx, along with strong Mainframe development skills, to deliver quality solutions that meet business requirements. This position plays a key role in supporting financial product implementations by driving the development lifecycle from design through testing and deployment, ensuring accurate coverage and scope.

Software Requirements

• Required:

  • Mainframe development including JCL scripting and batch processing

  • VisionPlus core modules: CMS (Card Management System), FAS (Financial Accounting System), TRAMS, LMS (Loan Management System), VMx

• Preferred:

  • Experience with VisionPlus enhancements and customizations

  • Familiarity with associated financial product concepts and workflows

Overall Responsibilities

• Lead the full development lifecycle of VisionPlus projects, ensuring solutions deliver intended functionality and meet quality standards

• Collaborate with technology teams and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver scalable and maintainable solutions

• Participate in testing and defect resolution activities to ensure successful deployments

• Communicate progress, risks, and technical information effectively across teams and stakeholders

• Own assigned tasks and collaborate proactively with peers and other technology teams

• Continuously update knowledge of financial products and emerging technologies relevant to VisionPlus

Technical Skills (By Category)

• Programming Languages:

  • Essential: Mainframe languages and tools including COBOL, JCL

• Databases/Data Management:

  • Essential: VSAM, DB2, or other mainframe database technologies (preferred)

• Cloud Technologies:

  • Not applicable/preferred for this role (mainframe environment)

• Frameworks and Libraries:

  • VisionPlus core modules: CMS, FAS, TRAMS, LMS, VMx

• Development Tools and Methodologies:

  • Essential: Mainframe development environments, debugging tools, batch scheduling

  • Preferred: Agile or iterative development methodologies

• Security Protocols:

  • Awareness of financial data security and compliance standards beneficial

Experience Requirements

• 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in VisionPlus development projects with strong domain expertise in core modules

• Extensive Mainframe development experience including JCL and COBOL programming

• Prior experience working on financial product implementations within VisionPlus framework

• Proven capability to manage the end-to-end development lifecycle and collaborate with cross-functional teams

• Alternative pathways may include demonstrated VisionPlus module expertise combined with solid mainframe development background

Day-to-Day Activities

• Designing and coding VisionPlus enhancements and custom components according to business needs

• Working closely with test teams to validate functionality and troubleshoot issues

• Participating in daily stand-ups, status meetings, and technical design discussions

• Coordinating with other technical teams to ensure smooth integration and system stability

• Maintaining technical documentation and ensuring adherence to development standards

• Managing priorities and deadlines in a dynamic project environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field, or equivalent experience

• Relevant certifications in Mainframe or VisionPlus technologies are a plus

• Commitment to continuous professional learning and domain knowledge enhancement
