We are a company that is growing fast and building systems to match that growth. The Store Manager role is central to that.

The Role

We are looking for a disciplined, process-driven Store Manager to own our factory store end to end — from goods receipt to material issuance to stock reconciliation. You will ensure that the right materials are available at the right time, in the right quantity, and in the right condition — so that production never stops for a material reason.

This is not a passive storage role. You are the gatekeeper of material accuracy and the first line of defence against wastage, pilferage, and procurement inefficiency. You will work directly with the Production Supervisor, Production Manager, and Procurement team to keep inventory lean, traceable, and fully accounted for.

What You Will Do

Goods Receipt and Incoming Inspection

• Receive all incoming materials — steel sections, PUF panels, insulation, hardware, electrical and plumbing items, wood, glass, fasteners, consumables — and verify quantity and quality against the Purchase Order (PO) before acceptance
• Raise Goods Received Notes (GRNs) for every material receipt — accurately, completely, and on the same day of receipt
• Inspect incoming materials for damage, specification mismatch, or shortfall and coordinate with Procurement for rejection, replacement, or supplier dispute resolution
• Ensure no material enters the store without a corresponding GRN on record

Inventory Management

• Maintain a live, accurate inventory master for all raw materials, semi-finished goods, and consumables in the store
• Update stock levels in real time against every GRN (incoming), MRN (issued to production), and MSR (returned from production)
• Conduct weekly physical stock counts and reconcile against system/register records — flag and investigate all variances
• Ensure First-In-First-Out (FIFO) rotation for all materials, especially consumables with shelf life
• Maintain minimum stock levels for fast-moving items and raise purchase requisitions proactively when stock approaches reorder point — production must never stop for a material shortage

Material Issuance and Production Support

• Issue materials to the production floor against authorised Material Requisition Notes (MRNs) only — no verbal requests, no undocumented issuances
• Ensure MRNs are filled completely — project name, unit number, stage, quantity, issued by, and authorised by — before materials leave the store
• Receive and process Material Stock Return (MSRs) for unused materials returned from the production floor
• Coordinate with the Production Supervisor daily to anticipate material requirements for upcoming production stages — zero surprises, zero last-minute scrambles

Store Organisation and Housekeeping

• Maintain the store in a clean, organised, and safe condition at all times
• Implement and maintain a clear material labelling and zoning system — every item has a designated location, every location has a label
• Ensure heavy and hazardous materials are stored safely, with appropriate handling equipment available and accessible
• Segregate damaged, rejected, or quarantine materials clearly from usable stock and maintain a separate log for these
• Enforce access control — only authorised personnel enter the store

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain physical registers and/or digital records for GRNs, MRNs, and MSRs — all entries to be current, legible, and complete
• Prepare and submit a weekly inventory summary report covering: opening stock, receipts, issues, returns, closing stock, and variances
• Prepare a monthly stock reconciliation report and present it at the monthly management review meeting
• Flag slow-moving or dead stock to management on a monthly basis to prevent capital lock-up
• Maintain supplier delivery records — track on-time delivery performance and flag chronic delays to the Procurement team

Vendor and Procurement Coordination

• Follow up with vendors and transporters on pending deliveries and provide daily update to the Production Manager
• Coordinate with Accounts for invoice matching against GRNs — ensure no invoice is cleared for payment without a matching GRN on file
• Identify and flag any material quality issues on a per-supplier basis to support procurement decisions

What We Are Looking For

Education

• Minimum: 10+2 (Intermediate) with strong numerical and written ability
• Preferred: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in any discipline — Commerce, Management, Engineering, or related field
• Any certification in Inventory Management, Store Management, or Supply Chain is an advantage

Experience

• Minimum 2–6 years of experience in a store, warehouse, or inventory management role
• Experience in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial environment strongly preferred
• Candidates with experience in steel fabrication units, construction material suppliers, building product warehouses, or industrial manufacturing facilities are ideal
• Experience with computerised inventory systems (Tally, Excel-based trackers, ERP) is preferred

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets — able to maintain and reconcile inventory tracker independently
• Working knowledge of Tally or equivalent accounting/inventory software preferred
• Ability to read Purchase Orders, match invoices, and identify discrepancies
• Basic understanding of construction materials — steel sections, MS plates, insulation panels, hardware, electrical and plumbing items — so that material identification errors are caught, not passed on
• Familiarity with GRN, MRN, and store documentation processes

Personal Qualities

• Obsessively organised — your store looks like no one has touched it, yet everything has been moving through it all day
• Zero tolerance for undocumented transactions — if it didn't go through the system, it didn't happen
• Proactive — you are raising purchase requisitions before the Production Supervisor has to ask, not after production has already stopped
• Numerically precise — discrepancies bother you. You find them before the monthly count does
• Trustworthy and transparent — you are handling company assets daily. Integrity is non-negotiable
• Communication — able to coordinate clearly with production, procurement, accounts, and management simultaneously
• Fluency in Telugu and Hindi — required. Basic English literacy — preferred
