Warehouse Supervisor

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily stockroom operations including receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping materials or merchandise, ensuring procedures are followed correctly.​
• Organize and maintain the physical layout of the stockroom so that items are easy to locate, safely stored, and compliant with safety standards.​
• Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular cycle counts or stock checks, and help investigate and correct stock discrepancies.​
• Ensure accurate documentation of all stock movements using stock cards, spreadsheets, or warehouse/ERP software as per company policy.​
• Coordinate with purchasing, sales, and other departments to prioritize incoming and outgoing stock based on project or order requirements.​
• Implement and enforce safety, housekeeping, and security standards in the stockroom, including proper use of equipment and PPE.​
• People managementLead, schedule, and supervise stockroom or warehouse assistants, assigning tasks and monitoring performance and productivity.​
• Train new and existing team members on stockroom procedures, inventory systems, safety rules, and quality standards.​
• Motivate the team, address performance issues, and provide feedback to management on staffing needs and employee development.​

Skills and qualifications

• Experience in warehouse/stockroom or inventory control, typically 2–4 years in a similar role, with some prior supervisory exposure preferred.​
• Good knowledge of basic inventory control principles, stock rotation, and handling procedures, ideally with exposure to WMS/ERP software. such as ZOHO
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under time pressure during peak receiving/dispatch periods.​
• Basic computer skills for data entry, reports, and email communication, plus the physical ability to lift, move stock, and stand for extended periods as required.​
