Workman Deburring

Job Purpose:

To perform manual and mechanical deburring operations on machined components to remove burrs, sharp edges, and surface irregularities, ensuring components meet quality, safety, and drawing requirements before inspection or assembly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform manual deburring using hand tools such as files, scrapers, emery sheets, stones, and deburring blades.
• Carry out mechanical deburring using pedestal grinders, bench grinders, pneumatic tools, and hand-held rotary tools.
• Remove burrs, sharp edges, and excess material from machined components as per drawing and quality standards.
• Ensure correct edge breaking, chamfering, and surface finishing as specified in drawings or work instructions.
• Inspect components visually and dimensionally after deburring to ensure no damage to critical surfaces.
• Handle heavy and precision components safely during deburring operations.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the deburring area and tools.
• Follow 5S, safety, and PPE requirements at all times.
• Coordinate with machinists and inspectors for rework or quality clarifications.
• Report defects, damages, or abnormalities to the supervisor immediately.
