Job Description
- 1. Operations & Production ManagementSupervise day-to-day plant operations (Cutting, Polishing, Toughening, Insulated Glass, DGU, Laminated Glass, etc.).
- Ensure production planning, scheduling, and machine utilization for maximum efficiency.
- Monitor glass breakage, wastage, plant downtime, and take corrective actions.
- Maintain strict safety standards and machine maintenance schedules.
- 2. Quality Control & Process ImprovementOversee QC checks at all stages – Raw glass inspection, processing, packing, and dispatch.
- Implement quality standards (BIS norms, thickness tolerance, edge quality, temper quality).
- Introduce process improvements and reduce rejections/returns.
- 3. Dispatch & Logistics ManagementEnsure timely dispatch to all clients and project sites.
- Coordinate with transporters, drivers, and dispatch team.
- Monitor route planning, vehicle loading efficiency, and minimize delays.
- 4. Customer Coordination & Client RelationshipHandle key clients, project managers, OEM customers, and dealers.
- Resolve complaints regarding breakage, delay, or size mismatch.
- Maintain healthy relations and ensure high customer satisfaction.
- 5. Sales & Business GrowthSupport the sales team with technical knowledge, feasibility checks, and pricing inputs.
- Review order pipelines, sales targets, and project requirements.
- Identify expansion opportunities and new product lines (Laminated, Insulated, Ceramic printing, CNC, etc.).
- 6. HR, Team Management & AdministrationSupervise and guide department heads: Production, QC, Purchase, Accounts, HR, Dispatch.
- Recruitment, performance evaluation, and training of staff & operators.
- Maintain discipline, attendance system, and manpower planning.
- 7. Purchase & Inventory ControlApprove purchase of raw glass, packaging material, spares, and consumables.
- Maintain optimum stock of glass sheets (float, frosted, clear, tinted, reflective).
- Prevent overstocking, shortage, and unnecessary expenses.
- 8. Finance, Cost Control & ReportingCoordinate with the accounts department for budgeting, payments, cost analysis.
- Control factory expenses and improve profitability.
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports to management.
- 9. Compliance & SafetyEnsure compliance with BIS, factory act, environment norms, and legal documentation.
- Promote safety culture among workers to avoid injuries or breakage.
