AutoCAD Draughtsman

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented AutoCAD Draftsman to prepare accurate construction drawings and documentation for architectural and engineering projects. The role involves translating design concepts, sketches, and specifications into precise CAD drawings while coordinating with engineers, architects, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, modify, and update 2D AutoCAD drawings including plans, sections, elevations, details, and shop drawings.
• Develop construction drawings based on architectural, structural, and MEP inputs.
• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards.
• Incorporate mark-ups, redlines, and revisions from clients and internal teams accurately and promptly.
• Maintain drawing registers, version control, and organised CAD files per company standards.
• Coordinate with engineers, BIM/modeling teams, and project managers to resolve drawing discrepancies.
• Assist in preparing submission sets for client review and approvals.
• Support quantity take-offs and basic documentation when required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, detailing standards, and drafting conventions.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Experience with layer management, Xrefs, plotting, and drawing standards.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work within deadlines.
• Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Drafting, or a related field (preferred).
• 1–3 years of relevant drafting experience (preferred).

Additional Requirements (Preferred)

• Familiarity with US or international construction standards.
• Exposure to BIM tools (Revit/Navisworks) is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of shop drawings, as-built drawings, and coordination drawings.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
