Industry: Sweets & Namkeen Manufacturing (Food Processing Unit)

Location: Factory Premises

Reporting To: Factory Manager / Operations Head

Role OverviewWe are looking for a Hands-On Housekeeping Supervisor for our sweets and namkeen manufacturing facility. This role requires active physical involvement in housekeeping activities along with supervising the housekeeping team. The candidate must lead by example, ensure strict hygiene standards, and maintain food-grade cleanliness across all production, storage, and common areas.

This is not a desk job. The supervisor is expected to work alongside the housekeeping staff whenever required.

  • Key Responsibilities

1. Daily Housekeeping Operations (Hands-On)Actively participate in daily cleaning of:

  • Production areas
  • Raw material storage
  • Finished goods area
  • Packaging section
  • Common areas, washrooms, drains, and passages
  • Perform and demonstrate correct cleaning methods to staff.
  • Ensure proper wet & dry cleaning schedules are followed.
  • Personally intervene during heavy cleaning, audits, or rush periods.
  • 2. Team Supervision & DisciplineSupervise housekeeping workers during shifts.
  • Assign daily tasks and zones clearly.
  • Ensure workers follow:
  • Uniform and PPE norms (cap, mask, gloves, apron, shoes)
  • Entry/exit hygiene protocols
  • Maintain discipline, punctuality, and attendance.
  • Train new housekeeping staff on hygiene and cleaning.

  • 3. Hygiene & Food Safety ComplianceEnsure factory hygiene meets FSSAI / food safety standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness to prevent:

  • Cross-contamination
  • Pest issues
  • Dust and waste accumulation
  • Follow cleaning SOPs for food processing environments.
  • Ensure cleaning chemicals are food-grade and used correctly.
  • 4. Cleaning Material & Inventory ControlMonitor daily usage of:

  • Cleaning chemicals
  • Mops, brooms, scrubbers, wipes
  • PPE items
  • Maintain minimum stock levels.
  • Report shortages or misuse immediately.
  • Ensure proper storage and labeling of chemicals.
  • 5. Deep Cleaning & Special ActivitiesPlan and execute:
  • Daily Deep cleaning
  • Weekly deep cleaning
  • Monthly detailed cleaning
  • Pre-audit or inspection cleaning
  • Personally supervise and assist during:

  • Equipment cleaning (external surfaces)
  • Drain cleaning
  • Wall, ceiling, exhaust, and floor scrubbing
  • 6. Documentation & ReportingMaintain basic records such as:

  • Daily cleaning checklist
  • Attendance of housekeeping staff
  • Material consumption log
  • Report hygiene issues, manpower gaps, or risks to management immediately.
  • Coordinate with production team to avoid disruption during cleaning.
  • Skills & RequirementsMandatoryExperience in food factory / sweets / bakery / namkeen / FMCG manufacturing housekeeping
  • Willingness to physically work on the shop floor
  • Good understanding of food hygiene and cleanliness standards
  • Ability to manage blue-collar staff
  • Basic literacy (to maintain checklists and reports)
  • PreferredKnowledge of FSSAI hygiene norms
  • Experience handling factory audits or inspections
  • Understanding of pest control coordination
  • Behavioral ExpectationsMust lead by example — no “only supervision from chair”
