Automotive Service Advisor

An automobile service advisor acts as the vital link between customers and technicians, greeting clients, understanding vehicle issues, creating repair orders, providing cost estimates, scheduling service, and updating customers on progress, ensuring satisfaction by translating technical needs into clear explanations and managing the service lifecycle from drop-off to payment. Key duties involve communication, sales of services/parts, and administrative tasks like managing invoices and records, requiring strong interpersonal and automotive knowledge. 

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Interaction: Greet customers, listen to complaints, explain services, and provide updates during repairs.
• Service Coordination: Document issues, create work orders, coordinate with technicians, and schedule appointments.
• Estimates & Sales: Provide accurate cost estimates, get customer approval for extra work, and recommend additional products/services (upselling).
• Technical Liaison: Translate customer concerns for technicians and explain repair work and costs back to customers.
• Administrative Duties: Manage repair orders, invoices, customer records, and parts ordering.
• Follow-up: Contact customers after service to ensure satisfaction and resolve any issues.

• Ability to handle administrative tasks and manage multiple priorities.
• Problem-solving skills to address customer concerns. 

Work Environment

• Typically works in auto dealerships or repair shops.
