Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled, creative, and experienced Bakery Chef to lead all aspects of our bakery production. The ideal candidate will be passionate about baking, possess exceptional leadership skills, and maintain the highest standards of quality, consistency, and food safety. This role is crucial for maintaining our brand reputation and driving culinary innovation.

  • 🔑 Key ResponsibilitiesI. Production & Culinary ExcellenceRecipe Development: Create, test, and standardize new recipes for breads, pastries, cakes, and seasonal items while ensuring cost-effectiveness and consistency.
  • Quality Control: Oversee the preparation and presentation of all baked goods, ensuring they meet the highest standards before reaching the customer.
  • Hands-On Baking: Execute complex baking tasks, including lamination, decorating, and large-batch production, as needed.
  • II. Kitchen Management & Operations
  • Inventory & Ordering: Manage inventory levels for all baking ingredients, minimize waste, and place orders with approved vendors.
  • Scheduling & Labor: Create efficient daily production schedules and manage labor costs effectively.
  • Maintenance: Ensure all baking equipment (ovens, mixers, proofers, etc.) is maintained and operating correctly.
  • III. Leadership & TrainingTeam Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor a team of bakers and kitchen assistants, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to all local health, safety, and hygiene regulations (HACCP/Food Safety standards).
  • ✅ Qualifications and RequirementsExperience: Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience as a Bakery Chef, Head Baker, or Pastry Sous Chef in a high-volume bakery or restaurant.
  • Education: Culinary degree or certification in baking/pâtisserie is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge: Expertise in both classic French pâtisserie/boulangerie techniques and contemporary baking trends.
  • Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in cost control and inventory systems.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work early mornings/holidays.
