🥖 Job Vacancy: Bakery Operations ManagerAbout La Saveur French BakersLa Saveur French Bakers is dedicated to crafting authentic, high-quality French pastries, breads, and desserts. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Bakery Operations Manager to lead our team, optimize production, and ensure the overall profitability and quality standards of our establishment. This is a critical role responsible for bridging the gap between kitchen execution, staff management, and financial health.


Key Responsibilities and DutiesThe Bakery Operations Manager will oversee all day-to-day functions, focusing heavily on cost control and operational efficiency:

  • 1. 📈 Financial & Cost ManagementCost of Goods Sold (COGS) Control: Track, analyze, and continuously work to reduce food and ingredient wastage, spoilage, and shrink.
  • Inventory & Procurement: Manage all raw material inventory, conduct accurate physical counts, and reconcile stock usage. Negotiate with suppliers for the best quality and price for ingredients and packaging.
  • Reporting: Prepare daily and weekly operational reports on sales figures, cash flow, labor costs, and stock consumption for the Accountant and management.
  • Budgeting: Assist in meeting and exceeding revenue and profitability targets and managing operating expenses within the budget.
  • 2. 👨‍🍳 Production & Quality AssuranceProduction Planning: Oversee the daily baking schedule, ensuring efficient workflow and that production volumes meet sales demand while minimizing overstock.
  • Quality Control: Maintain the highest standards of quality, flavor, and presentation for all French bakery items, adhering to La Saveur's proprietary recipes and techniques.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Manage the preventive maintenance schedule for all ovens, mixers, and production equipment to ensure minimal downtime.
  • 3. 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Staff & Leadership ManagementTeam Leadership: Lead, motivate, and mentor the entire bakery and front-of-house team (bakers, chefs, sales associates).
  • Scheduling: Create efficient weekly staff schedules that balance labor costs with operational needs.
  • Hiring & Training: Recruit, onboard, and provide ongoing training for all staff members, focusing on customer service, hygiene, and production standards.
  • 4. 🛍️ Sales & Customer ExperienceMerchandising: Ensure the storefront and display cases are aesthetically appealing, attractive, and maximize product visibility and impulse purchases.
  • Service Excellence: Guarantee outstanding customer service and handle customer complaints or issues professionally and efficiently.
  • Local Marketing: Coordinate with management on local promotions, special orders, and catering requests to drive revenue.
  • Qualifications and RequirementsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: 4+ years of progressive experience in managing operations within the Food & Beverage (F&B) sector, with direct experience in a Bakery, Café, or QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) environment being highly desirable.
  • P&L Acumen: Proven experience in managing and positively impacting P&L statements, specifically through reducing COGS and controlling labor costs.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with POS (Point of Sale) systems, inventory management software, and MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Core Competencies: Strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills. Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
