JOB TITLE: Billing Engineer [Furniture & Interiors]

LOCATION: Jaipur, Rajasthan

JOB SUMMARY: Candidate must have experience in furniture & interior execution work in commercial projects like hotels, hospitals, etc. The billing engineer will be responsible for preparing, managing, and verifying project bills for clients and subcontractors and for vendors.

This role ensures that all billing activities comply with project timelines, contractual terms and quality timelines.

BILLING ENGINEER NEEDED FOR FURNITURE & INTERIOR FIRM.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and submit interim bills (Running Account bills) and final bills to clients in line with contract terms, work progress, approvals and deliverables.
• Extract quantities from drawings, site measurements, As-built drawings, and verify actual work done for billing purposes.
• Prepare measurement sheets, quantity sheets, BOQs (Bill of Quantities) for furniture manufacturing & installation, joinery works, interior fit-outs, etc. (This is important for the furniture industry).
• Review vendor/subcontractor bills and invoices, verify against PO/work order and actual work done/ material used, ensure accuracy before pass-on to Accounts.
• Conduct rate analysis for extra items (work not covered in original contract) and prepare claims/variation orders.
• Track project cost, material consumption, vendor costs, subcontractor payments, reconcile with budgets and highlight variances.
• Liaise with site engineers, project managers, procurement, accounts and the client/consultant to resolve billing queries, discrepancies and delayed certifications.
• Maintain documentation: measurement books, site measurement records, material reconciliation statements, progress reports, billing log, change orders, payment certification status.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms (payments, retention, tax/GST, TDS, etc) and internal company policies.
• Generate monthly billing reports, aging analysis of payments, forecasts of cash flows relating to the project billing.
• Assist in audits and provide supporting documentation for billing and payment.
• Work closely with manufacturing/production (if furniture manufacturing happens in-house) to link material cost, production status with installation billing.

Skills & Qualifications:

Diploma/Degree

2–6 years of experience in furniture & interior project billing.

Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, AutoCAD, and billing software.

Strong understanding of BOQ, bills, and final billing processes.

Good communication and negotiation skills.
