Job Summary:NIRJHARNA KITCHEN, a restaurant renowned for its 200-year-old heritage recipes, is seeking a skilled and passionate Indian Chef to lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in traditional Indian cooking techniques, with a deep understanding of regional spices, flavors, and heritage recipes. This is a unique opportunity to work with authentic recipes passed down through generations and deliver an exceptional dining experience to our customers.

  • Key Responsibilities:Prepare a variety of authentic Indian dishes, maintaining the integrity of 200-year-old heritage recipes from Nirjharna village.
  • Master the use of traditional Indian cooking methods, including tandoor, curries, and biryanis, to produce high-quality, flavorful dishes.
  • Develop, plan, and manage the Indian section of the menu, ensuring seasonal ingredients are used to maintain freshness and authenticity.
  • Ensure all food preparation and presentation meet the restaurant’s high-quality standards.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring they follow food safety regulations and proper cooking techniques.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, monitor stock levels, and ensure the efficient use of ingredients to minimize waste.
  • Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager and Head Chef to create and introduce new dishes while maintaining the traditional essence of the menu.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, ensuring all health and safety protocols are followed.
  • Continuously research and keep updated on Indian food trends and culinary innovations that align with the restaurant’s heritage focus.
  • Qualifications & Skills:Proven experience as an Indian Chef, with expertise in regional Indian cuisine and the ability to recreate heritage recipes.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian spices, herbs, and traditional cooking techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to train and supervise kitchen staff.
  • Ability to maintain the authenticity of historical recipes while delivering modern, high-quality dishes.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
