Job Description
About the Role:
We are launching a premium bakery in Jaipur and are looking for an experienced Senior Pastry Chef who deeply understands classic and modern French pastry techniques. This role is ideal for someone who has worked in high-volume production kitchens, understands consistency at scale, and has a strong creative instinct to innovate and develop new products.
You will act as the Head of Pastry Production, responsible for product quality, SOPs, team training, and innovation.
- Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end pastry production for the bakery
- Prepare and oversee French-style baked goods such as:
- Croissants, viennoiserie, laminated doughs
- Tarts, entremets, choux pastry, mousse-based desserts
- Cakes, pastries, fillings, creams, and glazes
- Develop and standardize recipes and SOPs for production
- Plan daily and weekly production schedules
- Maintain consistency, quality, taste, and presentation
- Innovate and introduce new products based on seasonality and trends
- Train, mentor, and supervise junior pastry staff
- Manage ingredient usage, wastage control, and basic inventory planning
- Ensure hygiene, food safety, and kitchen discipline at all times
- Work closely with the founder/management on menu planning and cost control
- Skills & QualificationsFormal training in pastry/baking (preferred but not mandatory with strong experience)
- Strong command over French pastry techniques
- Hands-on experience in commercial/production kitchens
- Ability to scale recipes without compromising quality
- Creative mindset with attention to detail
- Leadership skills and ability to train a team
- Strong understanding of hygiene and food safety standards
