Job Title: Team Leader, Operations – Life Claims Examiner (Individual Contributor)

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Life Claims Examiner to join our team as a Team Leader in Operations. This is an individual contributor role with no team handling responsibilities. You will be responsible for reviewing, investigating, and adjudicating complex Group Life claims, ensuring compliance with policy provisions, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and adjudicate Group Life claims with multiple coverages and complexity.
• Interpret policy provisions and determine claim validity.
• Manage outreach to groups for missing information and handle customer escalations.
• Ensure claims are processed within payment authority and turnaround timelines.
• Maintain production and quality standards while adhering to internal and external regulations.
• Use various claims management systems for data management and reporting.
• Mentor new examiners and support process improvements and UAT.
• Prepare, report, and analyze performance scorecards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma with 15 years of education.
• 4–6 years of experience in customer service/administration, preferably in Life Insurance.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of US insurance principles and Group Life claims processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and claims management systems.

Preferred:

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Accident & Health (A&H) products.
