Job Title: Textile Designer (Carpets & Rugs)

Job Summary

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Textile Designer specializing in carpets and rugs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing innovative patterns and textures that align with market trends and brand identity. This role requires a strong understanding of materials, weaving techniques, and color theory specific to floor coverings.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop original designs and patterns for carpets and rugs based on seasonal trends, client requirements, and brand direction.
• Create digital and hand-drawn artwork for production using design software and traditional methods.
• Collaborate with product development and production teams to ensure design feasibility and quality standards.
• Research global design trends, color forecasts, and competitor products.
• Prepare design presentations, mood boards, and sample developments.
• Work closely with weavers and manufacturers to ensure accurate execution of designs.
• Review prototypes and suggest modifications for improvement.
• Maintain design archives and documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or a related field.
• 1–4 years of experience in textile design, preferably in carpets and rugs.
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and CAD tools.
• Strong knowledge of weaving techniques, yarns, and textile materials.
• Excellent sense of color, texture, and pattern development.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with hand-knotted, tufted, and machine-made rugs.
• Knowledge of international market preferences and export requirements.
• Familiarity with sustainable materials and eco-friendly production processes.
