Production Manager

*Job Profile: Production Manager**

**Role Overview:**

The Production Manager is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing shopfloor operations across multiple shifts, managing a workforce of over 500 members. The successful candidate will ensure seamless end-to-end operations, from order initiation to dispatch, for international buyers. This role demands a system-driven leader with a strong focus on compliance, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. **Operational Leadership:**

  - Lead and manage shopfloor operations across A/B shifts, ensuring optimal manpower and machine utilization.

  - Coordinate with PPC, NVD, maintenance, and quality teams to prevent stoppages and material shortages.

2. **Compliance and Reporting:**

  - Enforce strict adherence to SAP, PMS, and route card systems for accurate data capture and timely reporting.

  - Ensure the plant is audit-ready for ISO, Sedex, FCCA, and buyer-side inspections.

3. **Performance Management:**

  - Achieve production targets related to quantity, quality, cost, and time.

  - Improve key metrics such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), First Pass Yield (FPY), and Defect Removal Rate (DRR).

  - Reduce rework and scrap costs.

4. **Workforce Management:**

  - Cultivate a culture of accountability, safety, and compliance among supervisors, operators, and helpers.

  - Plan around absenteeism and align workforce deployment effectively.

5. **Continuous Improvement:**

  - Drive lean practices, Kaizen initiatives, and bottleneck elimination to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.

  - Implement strategies to minimize cost leakage and sustain world-class production standards.

6. **Safety and Compliance:**

  - Enforce safety protocols and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance across the workforce.

7. **Export Commitment:**

  - Ensure zero-delay in meeting export commitments and maintain high standards of production excellence.

**Qualifications:**

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

- Proven experience in production management within a large-scale manufacturing environment.

- Strong knowledge of SAP, PMS, and route card systems.

- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse workforce effectively.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and a track record of implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

- Strong understanding of ISO, Sedex, FCCA standards, and audit requirements.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
