Garment Workshop/production Supervisor

A garment workshop supervisor is a critical leader on the production floor, responsible for bridging the gap between management goals and floor-level execution. Their primary focus is to maintain high-quality standards while achieving daily production targets through effective team management and resource allocation. 

Core Responsibilities

• Production Planning & Execution:
• Set daily production targets based on available manpower and machinery.
• Allocate tasks to workers based on their specific skills and experience to optimize efficiency.
• Create and maintain production schedules to ensure all deadlines are met.
• Quality Control & Assurance:
• Enforce strict quality measures at every stage, from fabric cutting to final packing.
• Conduct regular in-line and final inspections to identify and immediately resolve defects.
• Ensure all garments align with approved samples, measurement charts, and buyer specifications.
• Team Leadership & Training:
• Supervise and motivate a diverse team of machine operators, helpers, and quality checkers.
• Provide hands-on training to new or unskilled workers on correct sewing methods and safety procedures.
• Monitor individual operator performance and conduct regular evaluations.
• Operational Management:
• Line Balancing: Regularly adjust the workload across the production line to eliminate bottlenecks and idle time.
• Inventory Oversight: Monitor stock levels of raw materials (fabrics, trims, thread) to prevent production interruptions.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all sewing machines and tools are in good working order and coordinate repairs when necessary.
