Job Description: Accountant – Garments Retail Mall

Job Summary

The Accountant for a garments retail mall is responsible for managing daily accounts, sales and purchase records, GST compliance, stock coordination, and financial reporting to ensure smooth retail operations.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Accounting & Sales

• Record daily sales (cash, card, UPI, online)

• Match POS billing reports with cash and bank receipts

• Handle cash management and daily cash closing

• Maintain bank reconciliation statements

Purchase & Supplier Accounts

• Record purchase invoices and expenses

• Maintain supplier ledgers

• Track outstanding payables

• Verify GST details on purchase bills

GST & Compliance

• Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B)

• Maintain HSN-wise sales data for garments

• Reconcile GST input credit

• Support during GST audits

Stock & Inventory Coordination

• Coordinate with store team for stock entries

• Track opening stock, sales, returns, and closing stock

• Assist in physical stock verification

• Identify shortage, excess, or slow-moving stock

Reporting & Controls

• Prepare monthly P&L statement

• Generate sales, margin, and expense reports

• Monitor discounts, offers, and schemes

• Assist management with financial analysis

Skills & Qualifications

• B.Com / M.Com / Accounting qualification

• Strong knowledge of retail accounting

• Practical experience with GST

• Proficiency in Tally / ERP / Excel

• Understanding of POS systems

• High attention to detail

• 1–5 years in retail / garments / FMCG accounting

• Experience in handling high-volume daily transactions preferred
