Industry: Aluminium Scrap Recycling (Ingots & Cubes Manufacturing)

Job Summary:The Purchase Manager is responsible for sourcing and procuring aluminium scrap (such as extrusion scrap, UBC, turning scrap, and other recyclable materials) required for production. The role focuses on ensuring consistent supply, competitive pricing, and quality of scrap while maintaining strong supplier networks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source aluminium scrap from local dealers, scrap yards, traders, and industrial suppliers
• Develop and maintain a strong vendor network for consistent material supply
• Negotiate pricing based on market rates (LME trends, scrap grades, demand-supply)
• Evaluate and ensure quality/specifications of incoming scrap materials
• Plan procurement based on production requirements and inventory levels
• Monitor daily scrap price fluctuations and market trends
• Manage purchase orders, weighment records, and documentation
• Coordinate with logistics teams for transportation and timely delivery
• Handle vendor payments, credit terms, and dispute resolution
• Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory norms
• Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
• 3–7 years of experience in scrap procurement, metals, or recycling industry
• Strong understanding of aluminium scrap grades and pricing mechanisms
• Experience in dealing with local suppliers and bulk purchasing
• Knowledge of import/export scrap procurement (preferred)
• Good negotiation and relationship management skills
