Job Description
- Design and concept development: Create initial sketches and concepts, develop mood boards, and design seasonal collections that align with brand vision and market trends.
- Market and trend research: Analyze current and future fashion trends, consumer needs, and new materials and production techniques.
- Prototyping and sampling: Develop and refine footwear prototypes and samples, and oversee the sampling process to ensure designs meet specifications.
- Material selection: Identify and select appropriate materials and components for footwear based on aesthetics, function, and cost.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and manufacturing partners, to bring designs to production.
- Technical specifications: Develop and maintain detailed technical specifications for products.
- Feedback and revisions: Revise designs based on feedback from teams and customers.
- Education: A degree in fashion design, industrial design, or a related field is often required.
- Software proficiency: Proficiency in design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D modeling tools is essential.
- Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of footwear construction, materials, and production processes.
- Creative and artistic skills: A strong sense of aesthetics, excellent sketching ability, and creativity.
- Soft skills: Strong communication, teamwork, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Adaptability: The ability to travel for research, factory visits, and trade shows is often necessary.
