Accountant

Performing job cost accounting: allocating expenses (labor, materials, subcontractors, equipment) to specific projects and tracking costs against budgets.

Processing accounts payable (AP): reviewing and paying supplier/subcontractor invoices, handling lien waivers, retainage, and ensuring proper coding to jobs.

Managing accounts receivable (AR): preparing progress billings (e.g., AIA forms if applicable), invoicing clients, tracking payments, and managing change orders.

Reconciling bank statements, credit cards, and loans; monitoring cash flow for material purchases and payroll.

Processing payroll, including certified payroll if prevailing wage jobs are involved, tracking union dues or benefits where applicable.

Assisting with month-end closes, preparing financial statements, variance reports, and work-in-progress (WIP) schedules.

Maintaining general ledger, posting journal entries, and ensuring accurate financial records.

Supporting tax compliance, sales tax on materials, and preparing for audits.

Collaborating with project managers on budget vs. actual reports, forecasting, and cost controls.

Handling administrative tasks like filing certificates of insurance, vendor setup, and compliance documentation.
