Propellant - Utility Lead

Responsibilities

•    Oversee the operation and maintenance of all utility systems, including steam, water, compressed air, electrical distribution, HVAC, and waste management systems. 
•    Ensure continuous and reliable delivery of utilities to support manufacturing operations without interruptions. 
•    Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to utility systems to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
•    Monitor utility usage, track performance, and implement strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste.
•    Develop and oversee preventive maintenance programs for all utility equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent system failures. 
•    Coordinate and perform corrective maintenance tasks on utility equipment as required, ensuring minimal downtime and production disruption. 
•    Maintain up-to-date records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
•    Ensure all utility operations and maintenance activities comply with internal safety policies, industry regulations, and environmental standards, particularly those related to propellant manufacturing. 
•    Conduct risk assessments and audits for utility systems to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
•    Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory agencies regarding utility operations and hazardous materials management. 
•    Monitor emergency response procedures for utility-related incidents and lead response efforts when necessary.
•    Regularly monitor the performance and condition of utility systems and infrastructure, identifying areas for improvement and implementing upgrades as needed. 
•    Analyze utility usage patterns and recommend strategies for cost-effective energy consumption and resource management.
•    Lead efforts in reducing utility waste, improving sustainability, and optimizing resource consumption in line with company goals
•    Maintain accurate and detailed records of utility systems, maintenance schedules, repairs, inspections, and upgrades.
•    Prepare and submit regular reports on utility system performance, energy consumption, and maintenance activities.
•    Ensure that all documentation complies with internal audit requirements and regulatory standards.
•    Drive continuous improvement initiatives for utility systems and processes, focusing on efficiency, safety, and sustainability. 
•    Identify and implement innovative technologies, practices, and systems to enhance utility operations and reduce operational costs. 
•    Stay current with industry trends, utility management best practices, and new technologies to maintain the plant’s utility infrastructure at the highest standards.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification:
►    Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, chemical engineer        or a related field is preferred. 
►    Relevant certifications in utility systems, safety, or mechanical/electrical maintenance are a plus.
►    Certification in energy management or sustainability programs.

Experiences:
►    Minimum of 8 – 10 years of experience in utility operations or maintenance, with at least 2 years in a                      leadership role within a manufacturing or industrial setting. 
►    Previous experience in a chemical, aerospace, or propellant manufacturing environment is highly desirable. 
►    Experience in managing utility systems, including steam, water, compressed air, electricity, HVAC, and waste            management.
►    Experience in managing utilities in hazardous or regulated environments such as chemical plants, defence,              aerospace, or explosives. 
►    Strong knowledge base on propellant properties, mixing requirements 
►    In depth knowledge propellant manufacture process of SB & DB propellants
►    First hand experience on implementing safety regulations while propellant manufacturing
►    Complete understanding of storage requirements of raw materials and finished products with relevant                     temperature control requirements
