Production Supervisor

Location: Khalapur Plant

Reporting To: Production Head

Work Schedule: 6 days a week (3rd Saturday Off)

Role Objective

To ensure daily production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and within quality standards by supervising shop floor activities, manpower, materials, and workflow coordination.

The Production Supervisor is responsible for converting planning into physical output.

Key Responsibilities

1. Daily Production Execution

Execute production plan as per PPC schedule.

Ensure daily target vs actual tracking.

Allocate manpower as per priority and workload.

Identify bottlenecks and escalate immediately.

2. Shop Floor Supervision

Supervise welders, fitters, fabricators, helpers, and operators.

Ensure discipline, attendance, and shift handover.

Maintain 5S and safety compliance at all times.

Prevent idle time and rework.

3. Quality Control at Source

Ensure fabrication and assembly as per drawings.

Verify dimensions before forwarding to next stage.

Reduce rework and material wastage.

Coordinate with QA for inspections.

4. Material & Resource Management

Ensure materials are available before job start.

Monitor consumables (welding rods, gas, grinding wheels).

Avoid excess scrap and wastage.

Inform purchase/stores of shortages in advance.

5. Coordination

Coordinate with:

PPC for schedule updates

Design for drawing clarifications

Stores for material

QA for inspections

Provide daily production status report.

6. Reporting & Documentation

Maintain:

Daily production log

Rework log

Attendance & manpower sheet

Delay reason report

Participate in weekly review meetings.

Required Qualifications

ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Fabrication

5–10 years experience in fabrication or heavy engineering industry

Strong knowledge of steel structures and mechanical assembly

Ability to read engineering drawings

Basic knowledge of welding processes and fabrication standards

Basic computer knowledge (Excel reporting preferred)
