Job Description

An Area Sales Manager - LAP (Loan Against Property) is responsible for leading a sales team to achieve targets for Loan Against Property (LAP) products within a specific geographic area, involving strategy development, team management, performance monitoring, market opportunity identification, and building relationships with clients and sales channels like DSAs. Key duties include setting targets, recruiting and training sales staff, monitoring performance, collaborating with internal teams, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining compliance with regulations. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy & Execution:
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet LAP sales targets for the assigned territory. 
  • Team Leadership:
  • Recruit, train, motivate, and manage a team of sales representatives to achieve individual and team goals. 
  • Performance Monitoring:
  • Monitor sales performance, conduct regular sales meetings, and provide guidance and support to the sales team. 
  • Market Development:
  • Identify new business opportunities and market trends, cultivating relationships with existing clients and new prospects. 
  • Channel Management:
  • Manage and develop relationships with Direct Selling Agents (DSAs) to drive business growth. 
  • Customer Relationship Management:
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by understanding their needs, providing tailored solutions, and maintaining client accounts. 
  • Internal Collaboration:
  • Work with internal departments like operations and finance to ensure timely service delivery and resolve issues. 
  • Reporting:
  • Provide regular reports to management on sales performance, market insights, and team progress. 

Key Requirements:

  • Sales Experience:
  • Proven experience in sales, especially in housing finance, LAP, and channel sales. 
  • Product Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of LAP products, mortgage loans, and the housing finance market. 
  • Leadership & Communication:
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. 
  • Market Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with local market conditions and the competitive landscape. 
  • Team Management:
  • Experience in managing and developing a sales team. 
  • Analytical Skills:
  • Ability to analyze sales data, monitor performance, and adapt strategies. 
  • Education:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field is often preferred.
