Trainee Equity Analyst

Job Summary

The Equity Analyst specializes in real-time market analysis, data-driven trading decisions, and fast reporting. The analyst supports the trading desk by providing live insights and executing trades in response to market developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor stock prices, market news, and trends throughout the trading day to spot intraday trading opportunities.

• Collaborate closely with traders to analyze market volatility, liquidity, and price movements for trade ideas.

• Generate rapid, actionable reports or commentary to steer trading desk decisions during market hours.

• Conduct scenario and probabilistic analysis based on time-sensitive news, earnings releases, and economic data.

• Build and maintain financial models and trading systems for intraday execution.

• Support risk management by updating and refining position and exposure analysis in real time.

• Maintain strong awareness of regulatory, macroeconomic, and company-specific developments as they unfold intraday.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or quantitative field (MBA/CFA is a plus).

• Experience in equity research, intraday trading, or a high-frequency trading environment.

• Solid analytical and quantitative skills; proficiency in Excel, Bloomberg/Reuters; coding experience is beneficial.

• Excellent real-time decision-making and communication skills.
