Department:Food & Beverage โ€“ Bar

Reports To:Bar Supervisor / Restaurant Manager

Job Summary:The Bar Waitress is responsible for providing efficient and courteous beverage service to guests in the bar area while maintaining high standards of hospitality, hygiene, and safety as per hotel policies.

  • ๐Ÿ”น Before Opening (Pre-Shift Duties)Report in proper uniform and grooming as per hotel standards
  • Attend daily briefing (VIP guests, reservations, promotions, out-of-stock items)
  • Clean and arrange tables, chairs, and bar counters
  • Polish glassware, cutlery, and service trays
  • Arrange napkins, coasters, menus, and table numbers
  • Coordinate with bartender regarding beverage availability and daily specials
  • Prepare service station (tissues, straws, stirrers, bill folders, pens)
  • ๐Ÿ”น During ServiceWelcome guests warmly and assist with seating
  • Present menu and explain beverages, cocktails, and bar snacks
  • Suggest and upsell premium beverages and food pairings
  • Take orders accurately and enter into POS system
  • Coordinate with bartender and kitchen for timely preparation
  • Serve beverages using correct glassware and garnish
  • Serve snacks and accompaniments professionally
  • Refill water and attend to guest needs promptly
  • Check guest satisfaction regularly
  • Clear empty glasses and plates immediately
  • Reset tables for new guests
  • Monitor guest behavior and inform supervisor if guest appears over-intoxicated
  • Maintain cleanliness of bar and service area at all times
  • ๐Ÿ”น Billing & PaymentsPrepare and present bills accurately
  • Verify ordered items before presenting bill
  • Handle cash, card, and digital payments
  • Return change and receipts politely
  • Close bills properly in POS system
  • ๐Ÿ”น Hygiene & SafetyFollow food safety and hygiene standards
  • Maintain clean trays and service stations
  • Handle glassware carefully to avoid breakage
  • Clean spills immediately to prevent accidents
  • Verify legal drinking age as per law
  • Adhere to responsible alcohol service guidelines
  • ๐Ÿ”น Closing Duties (End of Shift)Clear all tables and bar area
  • Dispose waste as per procedure
  • Return unused items to bar/store
  • Wipe and sanitize service stations
  • Assist in glassware counting if required
  • Report breakages, shortages, or guest complaints
  • Complete shift handover to next staff/supervisor
  • ๐ŸŽฏ Required Skills & QualificationsMinimum 1โ€“2 years experience in bar or restaurant service
  • Basic knowledge of cocktails and beverages
  • Good communication skills (English + local language preferred)
  • Pleasant personality and grooming standards
  • Basic POS knowledge
  • Ability to handle pressure during peak hours
