Assistant Manager - Indirect Tax Data Analytics

What you will do: 

• Preparing and reviewing indirect tax returns including GST/HST and QST returns for financial institutions using data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, Alteryx, Copilot, Datasnipper and Power Query.
• Assisting senior staff members in all aspects of indirect tax initiatives.

What you bring to the role:

• 1 to 2 years of data analytics experience, including a degree specialized in data analytics or similar.
• Highly self-motivated individual.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Alteryx data analysis skills. Prior experience with Power Query, Copilot, and Datasnipper.
• Proficiency in coding, particularly with Python to develop and maintain automation scripts.
• Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools, such as Power Automate, to streamline and automate internal processes.
• Strong knowledge of PowerBI for data visualization and reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Excellent research and analytical skills.
• Ability to effectively manage conflicting demands and priorities.
• High level of drive, enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams and meaningfully contribute towards attaining team goals.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.

Experience:

• 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in data analytics, preferably in a tax, finance, or consulting environment.

Technical Skills:

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Power Query.
• Experience with Alteryx, Datasnipper, and Copilot for data transformation and review.
• Proficiency in Python for developing and maintaining automation scripts.
• Familiarity with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools such as Power Automate.
• Strong knowledge of Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
