Position summary

Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) professionals provide assurance and advisory services including ESG/Sustainability Advisory, Sustainability/non-financial reporting, EHS, Climate Change and impact assessment studies. Our CCaSS team is growing exponentially, and as a senior you’ll play a key role in that growth. We expect you to be competent to deliver projects single-handedly and be responsible for the timeliness and quality of the work as per EY Global Standards. The role requires technical knowledge of GRI, CSRD, SASB, TCFD, CDP, IIRC, AA 1000, ISAE 3000, etc. along with well-developed communication skills.

As a Senior, you'll be expected to closely work with the GDS CCaSS team and the MENA EY teams. You will be working closely with the team on developing processes and controls and undertake limited / reasonable assurance on the non-financial disclosure / reporting of global EY clients

The individual will be required to travel to other countries (short term) for executing the client engagements.

Primary responsibilities

• Perform materiality assessments to determine the most significant ESG issues for the organization and its stakeholders.
• Utilize and optimize ESG/Sustainability related digital tools and systems, such as Enablon, for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Prepare ESG/Sustainability reports aligned with global standards such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, and CDP.
• Carry out ESG compliance-related assessments and ensure adherence to relevant regulations and standards.
• Deliver climate risk management solutions, particularly in relation to supply chain management.
• Ability to lead the integration of EHS management systems into existing business processes and ESG initiatives.
• Proactively seeking to identify client needs throughout the course of delivering ESG/ sustainability solutions.
• Developing tailored solutions with technical expertise to ensure we can effectively support the clients in their ESG objectives.
• Leading and communicating effectively with the CCaSS team members and clients.
• Collaborating with partners, senior managers, and clients to influence strategy, balancing risk, and client expectations.

Qualifications, skills, and experience

• BE/B-Tech/MBA/ or specific graduate in Environmental sciences, Sustainability and other related discipline
• 4+ years of sustainability experience in report writing, materiality assessments, conducting assurance, due diligence, impact assessment, responding to ESG rating indices questionnaires, and supply chain sustainability is a plus.
• Knowledge on digital tools on Sustainability/EHS if any.
• Experience in areas like biodiversity consulting, waster management can be an added advantage
• Certifications in climate change, environment, and sustainability related areas from GRI, SASB, GARP, CDP etc. are a plus.
• Excellent MS Excel (or any other data management tools/ technologies) and MS PowerPoint skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing skills.
• Ability and comfort level in researching client inquires and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel on short notice, as necessary.
