Store Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lathe Machine Operator to set up and operate lathe machines to perform various machining tasks such as turning, facing, drilling, and threading on metal parts. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of machine tools, measurements, and mechanical drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate manual or semi-automatic lathe machines.

Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and job specifications.

Measure and mark workpieces to ensure precision.

Select and install appropriate tools, fixtures, and attachments.

Perform turning, facing, boring, threading, knurling, and other lathe operations.

Inspect finished parts using measuring tools like micrometers, vernier calipers, and gauges.

Maintain machines, perform basic troubleshooting, and report major issues.

Ensure quality and dimensional accuracy of machined parts.

Keep work area clean and follow safety standards and procedures.

Record production details and maintain operational logs.

Requirements:

ITI / Diploma in Fitter, Turner, Machinist, or Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating lathe machines (manual or semi-automatic).

Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and job instructions.

Proficiency in using measuring instruments and hand tools.

Good physical strength and ability to stand for long hours.

Basic understanding of machine maintenance and safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with CNC lathe machines is a plus.

Familiarity with different materials (steel, aluminum, brass, etc.).

Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Knowledge of production quality standards.
