Azure DataOps Engineer
The opportunity
We are seeking a hands-on and motivated Azure DataOps Engineer to support our cloud-based data operations and workflows. This role is ideal for someone with strong foundational knowledge of Azure data services and data pipelines who is looking to grow in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with senior engineers and analysts to manage data pipelines, ensure data quality, and assist in deployment and monitoring activities.
Your key responsibilities
- Monitor and support Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines and Informatica CDI data ingestion jobs
- Help troubleshoot data movement and transformation issues across Azure Data Lake and Databricks
- Participate in incident resolution, root cause analysis, and reporting of recurring data issues
- Assist in small enhancements or change requests related to data workflows
- Execute deployment activities using Azure DevOps and maintain operational runbooks
- Collaborate with senior engineers and business teams to support ongoing operations and improvements
- Maintain documentation for SOPs, known issues, and common fixes
- Participate in rotational on-call or shift-based support for business-critical operations

To qualify for the role, you must have
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related) or equivalent work experience.
- 2–4 years of experience working across modern data ecosystems
- Hands-on experience in providing application management support (incident resolution, enhancements, monitoring, and optimization).
- Experience in Informatica CDI (or other ETL tools), Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Databricks (reading and running existing notebooks)
- Experience in root cause analysis skills across data pipelines, storage layers, and reporting.
- Good stakeholder collaboration skills to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Understanding of data governance, performance tuning, and cloud-based data architecture best practices.
- Experience in global delivery models and distributed teams.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts or provide on-call support during business-critical periods
Technologies and Tools
Must haves
- Working knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, and Synapse
- Exposure to Azure Databricks – ability to understand and run existing notebooks
- Understanding of ETL processes and data flow concepts
- Familiarity with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics for pipeline monitoring
- Experience supporting DevOps deployments or familiarity with Azure DevOps concepts.
- Basic scripting knowledge in Python or PySpark for data processing or automation tasks
Good to have
- Experience integrating data from a variety of sources including ERP, CRM, POS, and third-party APIs
- Familiarity with DevOps/CI-CD pipelines in a data engineering context
- Experience in industries such as retail, finance, or consumer goods
- Certifications such as:
- Informatica Certified Developer
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
- Databricks Certified Data Engineer
- Exposure to Informatica CDI or any other data integration platform
- Experience in writing SQL for querying and analyzing structured data
