Warehouse management (WM) is the process of controlling daily warehouse operations—receiving, storing, tracking, and shipping goods—to boost efficiency, cut costs, and ensure accuracy in the supply chain, often using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) for automation and real-time inventory visibility, ensuring the right products reach the right place at the right time. Receiving: Accepting and verifying incoming goods from suppliers.

Putaway: Directing and placing items in optimal storage locations.

Inventory Management: Tracking stock levels, locations, and types (raw, finished) for accuracy.

Order Fulfillment (Picking, Packing, Shipping): Retrieving items, preparing them for shipment, and dispatching orders.

Shipping: Loading and sending finished orders out.

Labor Management: Scheduling and optimizing staff for maximum productivity.

Space Optimization: Designing layouts to maximize storage and minimize movement.
